Trinidad



Visit Trinidad. This seaside village is perched atop the picturesque, rocky ocean bluffs surrounded by redwood and spruce forests. High above the crashing waves and a small harbor Trinidad is a small oasis along the California north coast.

Said by some to be the oldest, smallest and most westerly city along the north coast. Trinidad Bay is dotted with boats; there's a working fishing pier with a restaurant. Nearby is the HSU Marine Lab & Aquarium. Trinidad Head is a huge rock outcropping that shelters the harbor and can be seen miles before you reach the town. It is also the location of the Trinidad Lighthouse.

Trinidad State Beach and Patrick’s Point State Park are some of the most beautiful parks and beaches in California. Indian Beach is a local favorite and "Wedding Rock" is a special place where many "tie the knot" each year. Watch California gray whales, seals, sea lions and porpoise from Trinidad Head or Elk Head. Look for majestic Roosevelt elk, playful river otters, deer, raccoons, fox, and over 400 bird species including blue herons, snowy egrets, golden eagles.

There are many great places to go Tide pooling from Indian Beach north to Patrick’s Point State Park, there are miles of hiking trails in and around Trinidad for those that want to explore this beautiful area.

Fish off Trinidad Pier or charter a deep-sea boat for many varieties of fish; Salmon, lingcod, bottom fish, rock fish and surf fish .
