Redwood Coast Wildflowers

Redwood Coast Wildflowers are the most unique anywhere. Some only grown here while others have migrated up the coast into Oregon or down into the central California coast as well.
No matter where you are flowers at anytime of the year are a pleasant and rewarding find especially when traveling to a new area you aren't familiar with.

The wildflowers are unique. Nestled between multiple varieties of ferns and groundcovers or adorning the forest floor with bountiful greenry and delicate blossoms they are amoung the most delicate yet tough flora there is.

Blackberry Lily

Blackberry Lilies are most noticeable in late spring, right when the outdoor temps on the coast are starting to warm a little, usually around the end of April or beginning of May.

They are by no means the only ones you will be seeing around that time but since they grown along Hwy 101 and other mjor roadways their orange or dark red speckled blossoms knodding as you drive by are a sure welcome to the redwood coast wildflower region.

Redwood Region Flower Finder

Whether you are new to our area or a seasoned north coast traveler, this book is a great addition to any library. Redwood Region Flower Finder is great with close up pictures and detailed descriptions.

If you are vacationing with children this is a great show and tell book. Make a treasure hunt out of your hike through the redwood coast trails and give the kids something to look for specifically. See how many they can find.
Check out the other books: "Pacific Coast Tree Finder" and "Pacific Coast Fern Finder"
